Gargling with salt water is usually very helpful, but also try taking a garlic supplement (no, they don’t give you bad breath) and if it’s really, really bad you could try gargling with watered-down peroxide (but be especially careful that you don’t swallow any and don’t do it very often). I’m an expert on sore throats, having had a lot of them and been around a lot of people that also got them often; it comes with the territory in university choirs and Opera workshops.
