The Very Best

Shannon Manor‘s The Very Best is everything I could have hoped for from a Pokémon story. Shannon took the core story from Pokémon Red and Blue (and bits of Silver and Gold) and re-imagined it as a lighthearted, touching romance comic.

The Story of Pokemon Red+Blue but from the point of view of Blue!

While I stay as true to the storyline as I can, including some actual dialogue from the game, I try to offer a new take on how Blue felt about Red and everything around the two of them as the game (and some post game) unravels.

The less graceful elevator pitch is basically what if Gen 1 was a Rom-Com. I wanted to have fun on my first outing with a comic since 2011 but also actually put some genuine emotion into a game that didn’t give you much detail or character.
