I just wrapped up a play through of Super Metroid, as I play through the 2D games in the Metroid series. It’s held up by many as the gold standard of Metroidvanias, and I appreciated the outstanding craft that went into this game. There were very tough sections and I spent more time working to overcome some parts than I expected, but it was so rewarding to revisit this game.
