I’ve been tracking the music I listen to with Last.fm since 2004 and in 2022 I recorded more listening than any year other than 2005. Having settled into working at home, I’m able to listen to music while I work and have it be the background for more of my life. I listened to more new music this year than in previous ones and enjoyed exploring some genres earnestly that before I’ve only touched on fleetingly. Here are some pieces from my 2022 Listening Report.
Ian Penn’s Headlights in the Fog, the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 soundtrack and some new singles from Marit Larsen stand out as particularly meaningful.
