The latest Asians Represent Podcast is an exploration of OSR (Old School Renaissance) with @danielhkwan and Noora Rose discussing the movement and dispelling some misconceptions. I was very reluctant to explore OSR TTRPGs for a long while, thinking it a space of conservatives unhappy with the genuine improvements made to make TTRPGs accessible to marginalized players. This discussion has me curious enough to start poking around.
Ten years ago we hosted a show by the fantastic Birdbone Theatre (https://www.birdbonetheatre.org/) in the living room of the house I shared with a bunch of super rad folks. It remains a favourite of the many events we held in that space.
On tonight’s episode of Rampage, Riho and Nyla Rose’s match was another great match between two of my favourite performers. They used the size difference and underdog struggle to make Riho’s win seem a triumph. When Nyla turns face, I’d love to see these two tag together and build up a case for a women’s tag championship.
The Outcasts story leaves me bored, though; there are so many great performers I’d rather see in the spotlight.
