Kenny Omega and El Hijo Del Vikingo’s match on AEW Dynamite last night was an incredible display of athleticism and ring savvy. Both performers delivered some of their best work. Vikingo had much less hesitation than I’ve seen in some of his older and recent matches (performances for Impact in 2020, GCW in 2023 as examples) and it made his already astounding moves feel all the more impossible. Omega was always positioned and selling in the right ways to make Vikingo look like an incredible force. Calling this a dream match was not overpromising in the slightest. The video AEW shared of the latter portion of the match doesn’t capture the best of it, so seeking out the full thing is worth it.
