The Phenomenal Field, written by Milo Galang with art by Jee Saavedra, is a dark science fiction comic with a lot of strengths. The art is fantastic, with colour choices that make it pop. The writing is solid, but it’s a decidedly violent comic and that won’t be for everyone. Europa is a fascinating android character, and it feels like there’s a lot more story that could be told about her. I wasn’t able to find the Junkers short story, but would be interested in reading more in this world.
Following the events of the short story Junkers, the android Europa escapes into the wider world and makes her way through in pursuit of an old world purpose.
