This seventh episode of Voltes V introduced a robot octopus and took the team to an island of giant creatures. It was silly fun.
The episode opens with the team being woken by an explosion in Hiyoshi’s room, where he had been working on a robot friend, Takko.
Hiyoshi doesn’t listen to pleas to focus on his duties, of course, and instead finishes Takko.
The villains have been making friends of their own, including a crow beast knight they use to lure the Voltes V team to their island.
Takko stows away with Hiyoshi and inserts himself in the adventure.
The team arrives on the island, encounters the large fauna, gets trapped by animated vines and then are saved when Takko cuts them free.
The lander is damaged by an attack from the beast knight, so the team regroups in a cave. There they discover the ship needs parts to repair. Kenichi threatens to destroy Takko and Hiyoshi eventually realizes he can disassemble Takko to get the parts they need.
With the ship repaired, Voltes V engages with the crow beast knight and quickly dispatches it. A restored Takko closes the episode on a comedic note.
