I made an awful pun for a store name in my City23 creation for today and I was shocked it hadn’t been used for a real world shop (at least not that a quick search could find).
Last year I cleaned out my closet and did a refresh of t-shirts to get some more of the things I geek out about into my wardrobe. Now that summer is just about here, I’m looking forward to wearing them often.
Here are two more shirts I added to my wardrobe last year. I needed to have that Astro Boy one to sub in for one I got in a Tokyo airport that is just too fancy for weekly wear.
Here is the other Astro Boy shirt, with a lenticular Astro, and my Xenoblade trilogy shirt.
When Celestine was two, we went with my sister Ilea and niece Khali to a kite festival at the base of Citadel Hill. She took to flying them immediately. I’m hoping to get to the festival with her again next month.
I had no idea there was a Mask of Awakening that allows for playing Tears of the Kingdom as Link’s Awakening Link until I scanned an Amiibo today and received it. How delightful!
D20 Dames have a fun campaign ongoing playing Brindlewood Bay. It’s all about elder women in a mystery bookclub solving actual crimes. There’s a lot of Murder, She Wrote in the game, and it’s utterly charming.
Dum Dum Girls’ Too True is a gloomy, magnificent pop album that grabs my attention all the way through. It’s a hidden gem that I love returning to and I did this morning to start my work day.
I didn’t watch wrestling while CM Punk was in his prime and, while I could see glimmers of what people liked about him when he returned in AEW, I’ve always found him an unappealing person and character. Watching AEW Collision tonight that impression stayed with me; watching a show centred around him is like watching one centred around Hulk Hogan, just not what I’m here to experience. I was happy to see Miro, Willow Nightingale, and some other performers I enjoy, but overall was underwhelmed by the show. Not enough of what I have loved from AEW was on display here to make me think this will be a show I have to see every week like Dynamite. The magic of AEW revolves around The Elite, Kris Statlander, Orange Cassidy, Nyla Rose, and other Dynamite regulars for me, so crossovers might draw me in but FTR and CM Punk are a turn off for sure.
