I received some crushing personal news today, so the hurricane looming for the weekend and the rain we’re already receiving seem fitting. I’m hoping both the physical and metaphorical storms pass by without much damage but bracing for the worst.
WordPress seems to be working much better with the fediverse now. If you’d like to keep up with my blog, you can follow @apollo . There’s a fair bit of overlap and I do a digest of my posts from here on the blog weekly, so be warned of some redundancy.
Post-tropical cyclone Lee hasn’t reached Nova Scotia yet, but about 10% of people here are already without electricity. A block from here power is already out. There are strong winds but not a lot of rain so far.
The power outages are creeping closer to us. Across the courtyard our neighbours are without power, and I see an extension cable running from the building next to me across to one with an outage. We’re putting in the work to prepare as much food as we can before we are without power too.
