Five years ago today we visited Katican Island (Pearl Island) in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, Philippines. It was a beautiful place and I enjoyed seeing the life in the water.
Today I received this email reminding me of my first awkward days being social online and using the frozentruth handle I’d use for years after. LiveJournal was a vital place when it was at its peak. I made friendships that lasted long after we stopped using LJ, including my second girlfriend and people in fandoms that stayed important to me. The fediverse feels like the closest to that experience now.
