I’m not sure how I feel about it as a whole. I think it’s good that consumers are protected, but artists do need to continue to make a living. Perhaps that is where the terrif can come into play more…
Either way, it’s a legal issue, and by law Canadians can make copies of music and video, as long as they don’t distribute it to others. I think that it is good that we can make copies of various things, but there is no substitute for supporting the people who work hard to bring us the originals.
