rhyme + no reason

Ah, a rare rhyming poem… more from the Roth and Grania story… not good but there all the same

Discovery of Leaves

Looking up for the moon and stars
Though the ground is far too bright
And Denies the silver that is ours
All I have left of the last night

Gone behind the blinding normalcy
Of the towers and palette of grey
A thread beats urging me to flee
To keep a growing silence at bey

Near and far the promise remains
Out of my reach and never able
To cool the many flickering pains
Aching and burning, hardly stable

Legs planted, moving onward still
Needing reassurance, sensing breaks
In the swift void, unable to fill
Stopping an instant, thoughts raked

Dark leather, around thick pages
Clasp opened, words in black ink
Scenes in mist, show gentle rages
Visions of her calm, within I sink

Permanent hope, on my unsure journey
The parting dream was always true
The closeness is what will keep me
Always wishing, ever thinking of you
