Don’t worry about one thing

My mother and sister went to Cape Breton early today to pick up my great aunt Dorthy… and her 18 year old, foot-wide cat. It’s a seriously big feline! They just arrived here and the cat went to every room upstairs and then decided to invade the basement. The poor thing is so big he actually had trouble getting back up the stairs. lol So they’ll be staying here for a week or two… and my mother will be going to get my aunt Rose-anne later this week. My basement cave is a blessing. πŸ˜‰
I just finished searching classifieds for places to stay. We might be able to get a place closer to Dal for $650/month… a bit more than the other place but still decent… we’ll have to call about that sometime… urg, this process is so frustrating. There’s no way I’d want to go back to residence though. πŸ˜› If we get one place we’d be on LeMarchant, the same street I was on last year. That’d be interesting.
πŸ˜‰ Someday I’m going to spend a summer back at the maple sugar camp my family owns and just write every day… No electricity and no phone line… πŸ˜‰ Of course I’d have to bring Ashley with me… There’s no way I’d willingly go that long without being able to talk to her.
I just have so much I want to write and not enough time to do it. I keep having more stories and words developing faster than I’m able to get them out on paper or screen. I’m inspired by some of the oddest things and memories… One story I have is based mostly on an old concept I had when I was still in elementary and picked on a lot. It’s really simple in it’s beginnings, just a kid wishing for a way to stop being bullied, but it’s developed into something deeper, I think. I guess that inspiration is rather common, as is the central plot element, but I think it can be molded into something interesting.
I’m in one of those shattering headspaces, anyway. Where it’s time to move forward and shed as many flaws as possible. It’s an annual thing for me, to come out of a summer better prepared to do what I need to.
This past and next few weeks were and are going to be very hard and very trying… So many things all happening at once, so much to deal with… The computer problem, the guests, the appartment, registering for classes, not being able to talk to Ashley after thursday, and whatever else happens… There are so many things I wish I could change, others that I wish would remain the same…
The life of a crow seems pleasant… the go where they please, always have something to eat(hey, carrrion may not be so bad πŸ˜‰ )… And nests don’t cost anything to make, right? πŸ˜›

For all the advances humans have made, we’re still slaves. To money, media, corporations and government we always turn. Why? It’d be much easier to start fresh. Who could stop us if we all decided to become Robin Hoods and took what’s ours from the wealthy and powerful? But we’re all brainwashed into believing we are powerless, or that we need them somehow.
WE DO NOT LIVE IN A DEMOCRACY. Don’t believe the lies. We are ruled by the wealthy and people in established power.
In ancient Greece they had an etablished direct government(in Athens, I believe) that worked because every person was able to actively participate in it with their own voice. Leaders stayed in power for only one year and were elected two at a time, to balance the power… Each person would have a vote for any important matter… A direct say in what affects you.
Would it really be that hard to establish a true democracy today? In a small nation, not at all… set up the rules and provide the means to run votes and elctions and it would work. Even in a larger country, dealing with millions rather than thousands, a direct democracy could be established in a decade or two. Using computer systems, online and phone voting, promoting the importance of voting and other not-so-impossible steps, it could be done…
Someday I’ll be a politician. πŸ˜‰ Vote for me when I am πŸ˜‰
