My mother had a birthday party for my aunt tonight. Just a handful of aunts from my father’s side were able to come but it was nice. I emerged from my den for the last part of it. My aunt Sharon brought my youngest cousin, Hailey, who’ll be a year old in October, with her. She is absolutely adorable! She is able to say people’s names now, as well as a many other words. She’s a really smart kid. She’s been saying my name for a while now… pronounces it Oh-pollo. 😛 It’s cute.
It’s been two days since I last talked to Ashley… nights seem so empty when I’m not able to talk to her… They stretch on without any direction, it seems.
I was talking to my friend Sarah Bernard(not to be confused with Sarah Skipper, the other friend I mention here sometimes) and we talked about how expensive it will be for her to get a decent turntable/sound system… 2000 or 3000+… That’s some serious money! But she’s hoping to land a recording contract very soon so it’d be quite worth it. Then she informed me that Buck 65 is playing in Halifax tonight. I really wish I had a way to get there… I’ll be going to each of his shows once I’m back in the city… He’s GREAT! I’m looking forward to Square in September, his major label debut… It must have Bluejays + Rainbows and the one that goes, “I’ve seen diamonds divide in the corners of her eyes”(it’s about false rumors of insest, if I remember correctly… not your typical hip hop song topic, or typical topic for anything, for that matter…)
My current music selection is a collection of 100 songs with female vocalists… everything from Juliana Hatfield and Ani to Poe and Lisa Loeb(
A new project… I think I’ll try recording myself reading a few poems and post that here or on my site… If it turns out well and anyone actually listens to them I may make a weekly voice entry for the journal, just me talking randomly or reading something I’ve written. Does it sound like a good idea?
Does anyone remember the great NES game, LOLO?
