Tower Fields

Tower Fields

Moments creeping by like shadows
Shadows of the unsubstantial
Filling my mind with pain and loss
A heavy cloud of confusion

Surrounded by grey field-towers
The cage and vast space a maze about
Pushing me into faded times
Keeping me from my true feeling

Without connection I stand still
In the maze burned into my eyes
Listening to the hurt silence
Crying out for release and hope

Days pass in the maze like long years
The grey shows no signs of passed time
Each alley and hallway close
Blocking escape and holding strong

Every path completely followed
Every hope with dust extinguished
Covered in the soot of burned word
Blind with sorrow and great distance

Looking at only my mind now
Each second unlocking my doors
Chaining uncertainties to rock
Leaving the clouds deeply contained

Every grey wall falls before me
As I walk with purpose through each
Breathing the dust but not choking
Resolute and purposeful now
