I was up at 6 am this morning… I had a shower and got ready… put my bed, desk, table, dresser, chairs and a few other things on the trailer and filled the trunk with more… Then the whole family left from here at 8… We were at Nathan’s by 9 and picked up the keys…
We got to the apartment a little after 9:30 and opened up the doors…
Miranda was there so I met my second roommate for the first time… she seemed nice… and her father looked so much like Charles de Lint!!!! lol It was uncanny… I got a check from her and talked about what we needed from her, she from us, etc.
We moved everything in… it took quite a while but it all went where it should… My room will be a bit crowded but it’s nice… Once that was done we left the keys with Miranda and went to the car…
That’s when a complication arose… every time we turned the car made odd noises… We drove to Halifax Shopping Center and Dad took a look under the hood…. the power steering line had broken and leaked, causing the noise and issues with the steering… We decided to leave it for a while and went to shop… Eventually Dad left and took it to a garage to be temporarily fixed….
We scoured the malls and got some vital things… new sneakers(Airwalk Punk), ethernet cable(15 meters, enough so that I can have my laptop anywhere in the apartment), a new novel(Antrax by Terry Brooks) and other things I can’t remember.
We walked to the car, had dinner, hooked up the trailer and came home…
We stopped at Lucy and Larry’s to return their trailer(it’s for hauling Larry’s special golf cart when he goes golfing… He’s paralized from below his arms down so he needs extra support when he golfs and just for doing things around the house…)… I talked to her for a while and said the check from last night was too much, but she insisted that it was what she and Larry wanted to give me… so I accepted it… Tomorrow I’ll go there to do some more work…
Everything is packed except for this laptop… and I move in Friday morning…
