First Day

Well, today has been a rather uneventful first day of classes… I was up before 9 and then just hung out here with Nathan and Miranda… watched Seasame Street with them for a while… why? I have no clue… it sure has changed a lot in format since when I was a kid… Seems less intelligent… but they had REM playing a song so it was kinda amusing…

At 12 Mirand and I started walking towards Dal. It was the first time either of us had walked from here to campus…. We made it in about 20 minutes walking at a reasonable pace… so if I powerwalk I can do it in 10 😉 She has a car too, so Nathan and I can likely bum a ride from her when she decides to drive to class.

I was 40 minutes early for my class so I walked around the CS building for a while before walking to the corner store I used to go to on an almost daily basis when I lived in residence. It hasn’t changed at all. I bought a bottle of Pepsi Blue and some Max Air… the P.B. was actually rather good… reminded me of Nerd candies(anyone remember those?) and gummies for some reason…

I sat through about 80 minutes of Data Structures class of the “Big O”(what my friends and I call order notation) class as it will now be known. It seems like it will be alright… a lot of Java review for the first month so it will be beneficial to me since I forgot a lot over the summer.

After class I walked around with Nathan and Mark for a while… Nathan and I started to walk home around 4, when I suggested we go to set up a membership at Video Difference(well, I just suggested a video store in general and Nathan said it’s the best)… We looked around and say the huge selection they have there… I was very impressed… We looked around the top leve but didn’t check out the archive… they have tons of anime DVD’s that I’ll be sure to get when Ashley comes to visit… In the end we decided to rent a Stanley Kubrick Collection and I bought The Mothman Prophecies on DVD because it was cheap.

After that we walked the few blocks it took to return here…
