About me: I’m 19, male, currently a student at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada… In the summers I’ve been working as a groundskeeper but I think this past summer will have been my last because I need to try something different… I’ll soon be at the one year mark with my girlfriend, Ashley, who is simply the most wonderful person I have ever met. I won’t start talking about her too much because this is supposed to be about me and I know if I started to say much about her I’d be caught up and you’d have a letter far too long. 😉 I’m currently living in a fairly nice apartment here in Halifax with my friend Nathan and a girl named Miranda that I’ve only known as long as I’ve lived here, but who seems like a great person.
Hobbies:
Reading: I’m mostly a fantasy and urban fantasy reader but I’ll also read anything that I find interesting. My favorite authors include Tolkien, Charles de Lint, Terry Goodkind, Terry Brooks and Mark Z. Danielewski(the singer Poe’s brother). One book I would very much recommend is Danielewski’s House of Leaves. It’s a brilliant “novel” and the greatest work of the past 20 years in my humble opinion… very complex and it wil draw you in like nothing else.
Writing: I try to write as much as possible but the demands of other parts of my life come first… Mostly I write poems(many of which are on my site) but also short stories and a planned novel. I’d love to write for a living but I lack the skills for that… And I’m well aware how little even the average professional writer earns a year(under 10,000 from what I’ve heard). That’s why I’ll only self-publish anything I feel is fit to be read, whether online or with a local printing company… But as I said, I don’t really have the skills to be worthy of being read.
Journal Writing: I keep an online journal using the wonderful community at Livejournal.com. You can read it within my site. 🙂 I update everyday, and eventhough they are usually meaningless entries, I always try to put some depth in at least a few posts a week.

Webdesign: As I mentioned too often already, I have a website that I work on from time to time at http://www.frozentruth.com. It’s nothing great but it has just about anything anyone would want to know about me on it… writings, photos, fanpages, links, journals, etc. Take a look if you ever have the time and be sure to sign the guestbook
Movies: I’m not all that interested in movies myself. I have some that I really love and I’ll watch anything as long as it isn’t too cheesy when offered but I don’t go out o my way to see any. Just this weekend I’ve been watching a bunch of Stanly Kubrick films, all part of The Stanly Kubrick Collection that I rented from my local video store. I watched The Shining, Lolita and 2001: A Space Odyssey so far and I’ll get to A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, Full Metal Jacket and Dr. Strangelove in the coming week. My favorite movies include Lord of the Rings, Sleepy Hollow and The Crow. I’m also a sucker for a good love story somehow, even romantic comedies. lol
Music: Ah, this is my largest hobby! I’m completely a music junkie! I’ll listen to almost any genre but I’m quite specific about what I enjoy. Some of My favorites include Collective Soul, Poe, Matthew Sweet, Smashing Pumpkins, A Perfect Circle, Tori Amos, Ani DeFranco, Lisa Loeb, Kidney Thieves(they have one song On the QotD soundtrack, the song played for the ending, “Before I’m Dead”), Buck 65(the only hip hop artist I consider worth listening to. He started right here in Halifax and is brilliant), Bruce Guthro, Great Big Sea, Tea Party, Terami Hirsch, Live and M2M. I hope you can see the real mix of taste there. 🙂 I’m very much addicted to concerts. I go to see any good band that happend to come here… so far I’ve seen Collective Soul, Smashing Pumpkins, Our Lady Peace, A Perfect Circle, Foo Fighters, Big Sugar, April Wine, Big Wreck, Matthew Good Band, Treble Charger, Buck 65, Joydrop, Rawlins Cross, Catherine Wheel, Sarah Harmer, The Tragicly Hip, Eve 6, Crush, Bruce Guthro and dozens more.
I’m interested in other areas to varying degrees… I collect a few comic titles such as Sandman, Strangers In Paradise, Elfquest and Gloom Cookie… I’ve used runes for divination before, though I haven’t for about a month… I collect art of various types, but being on a limited budget it’s usually in the form of posters… I’m interested in beat culture and in subcultures in general.
