There haven’t been? I’m sure that’s a false statement. Perhaps the first for Marvel, but there are tons of indie and underground titles that have that. 😛
Hell, look at the amazing Strangers In Paradise, which stars a lesbian as one of its main characters. It is one of the most successful and well written comics on the market. I was just rereading it last night before sleeping, and it’s really a great story!
