Remember

I’ve done a lot of reading today. I actually flipped through a newspaper, read a magazine and did my usual news reading online. My ears have been filled with the music that is always with me, keeping me sane.

My eyes and ears feel clean since I just got out of a bath, and my mind does too, though the soap and water stayed clear from it. I’m making steps toward enlightenment. I see beyond the lies that stick to the sea of truth’s surface like spilled oil. Not all of it yet, I’ll admit. I haven’t discovered everything, but I’m doing what I can to change and question. I’ll wash off the grey.

The less I have the more I am. It’s the creed that is going to be shaping my life from now on. I see myself living with less each day. I’m giving up the things that don’t matter and shedding them like dirty clothes. I’m donning some truth-lit webs to weave my life forward. Less is more.

The more I learn, the more I wish to change. Myself and the world are not where we need to be. I’ll start with my life and hope I can influence others. It’s easy to change yourself and get rid of societal addictions. I gave up television easily enough. I don’t buy things unless they are useful to me. Never expensive clothes, and little frivelous spending.

And next will come the feat of consuming nourishment. My goal is to eat healthier, and also with less damage to others. I’ll start buying as many foods as I can from people who respect this world, who don’t harm its people in as many of the countless ways big businesses do. It will be the hardest step, but I believe I can do it.

The more I learn, the more the ignorance of others bother me. My own sister showed me how she has been corrupted by the evils of this disease. She plans to take journalism at university and will one day be part of the media machine. She said that if she can make more money she will lie and twist the truth in her reporting. That really worries me that she can think like that. My own sister?

I need to start researching what it takes to enter politics here. Even if it’s just for some small position in the HRM, I really want to become involved as soon as I can to start effecting change. In ten years I hope to be running for some position in federal or provincial politics if I can find the means to do so. Actions are needed to change things, afterall, and democracy is for the people.

My room is looking good now. It’s becoming Apollotized and more open. I’m keeping with the minimal vibe and trying to find the optimal place for my speakers. There’s even some dancing space on the floor if anyone wants to visit for a ho-down. 😉

I have a $2 wooden recorder that I think I’ll learn to play over the summer. It’ll be interesting, I’m sure.

I got Terry Brooks’ Sometimes The Magic Works the day I arrived home and I’ll be delving into that book soon. Terry is a great writer and it will be interesting to read his take on the craft, and maybe learn some from his methods and beliefs.

Tomorrow I’ll be visiting my aunt and uncle’s place in the afternoon to help set up a new remote they bought for their tv. It’s kinda amusing how I’m the one my family turns to for help in technical matters.

Thursday I think I’ll go to work and at least clear away some brush as a start of my grounds keeping duties. Plus the extra $60 in my account won’t hurt when it comes time to pay my phone bill.

I don’t watch tv.

  1. you should really get “the life of david gale.” it’s in mass-market paperback and takes no time to read at all–but then again i am a speed-reader.

    😉

        1. It’s $350/month and that includes everything.

(water, heat, electricity, cable, internet, ect.)

It’s on Liverpool Street. That’s just off Oxford and very near the main #1 bus stop. 15 min walk to Halifax Shopping Center.

There’s a large living room, a kitchen, washroom, storage closet, and two other rooms.

Here’s the text from one ad I posted:

          cable, internet, all utilities included.
In a quiet neighbourhood and just seconds from a main bus route(#1), a drug store and other stores. A 15 minute walk will take you to Halifax Shopping Center, a Sobeys, Walmart and just about any other stores you might need. There are 2 other rooms in this apartment which are taken by my current roommates. They are quiet and very nice people who are easy to get along with.

There’s an N64, a Gamecube, an NES, a DVD player, a VCR, TV and cable in the living room…

Let me know if he needs any other info.

If he wants to contact me my e-mail address is apollo@frozentruth.com and my phone # is 902-568-2825 (I prefer e-mail since the phone has no answering machine and calls are often missed).
