Spend a Day Together

If we were to spend a day together:

1. What do you think I’d suggest we do?

2. What would I be wearing?

3. What would we eat/drink?

4. If I suggested we watch a movie, what kinda movie do you think I’d pick out?

5. If we were just gonna hang out at my place, what music would I have playing in the background?

6. What do you think my living space would look like?

For those of you who’ve already spent time with me in person, was I pretty much how you’d imagined I’d be, or a complete surprise? If I surprised you, what was it that you weren’t expecting? If you were to introduce me to one of your friends, what would you tell them about me before we met?

  1. [these are so much fun to do]
    1. What do you think I’d suggest we do? go for a walk. outside; city or country, concrete or dirt trail. just a walk. maybe with cameras.

    2. What would I be wearing? a dark t-shirt and jeans, maybe. and a jacket, if it was cold.

    3. What would we eat/drink? water and sandwiches. i <3 sandwiches. peanut butter and honey or peanut butter and jelly, maybe. something good and filling. ohhh, or cheese sandwiches.

    4. If I suggested we watch a movie, what kinda movie do you think I’d pick out? an independent film, i think. or a foreign film like ‘good bye, lenin!’ [because it was so good and funny], or ‘amelie’. or ‘happenstance’. ‘happenstance’ was good.

    5. If we were just gonna hang out at my place, what music would I have playing in the background? probably something i had never heard before but would more than likely enjoy and want to listen to later.

    6. What do you think my living space would look like? clean, but very artsy. whether it was simple artsy or complex artsy, it doesn’t matter. it would just be artsy; maybe blue with black and white as a colour scheme. posters on the wall, not an obnoxious amount but a few.

i sound so intelligent in those, let me tell you.

    1. 1) Yes, I’m always up for a walk. I need to get myself a new camera though.
      2) I usually stick with black jeans and a t-shirt and wear a black tench coat if weather requires it.
      3) Oh, I’m a big fan of PB&J sandwiches!
      4) I haven’t yet seen Good Bye, Lenin! or Happenstance, but I loved Amelie.
      5) You’re likely right about this.
      6) My place is clean, but I’d say it’s minimal rather than arty… my walls are rather bare, with a few wall hangings (a Dalai Lama one, a copper lizard and a calendar) and some plants. My walls were painted a light golden so I’ve tried to work with that, having a lot of wood and brown tones.

  2. 1) That’s very likely
    2) Yeah, that’s pretty much on.
    3) Sounds good to me.
    4) Again, you’re likely right.
    5) Yes, I am indeed a Matt Good fan.
    6) You’re right again. I don’t have a whole lot of stuff.

  3. Stealing my ideas, I see ; )

    1. What do you think I’d suggest we do?
Go check out some live music, if at all possible : )

    2. What would I be wearing?
Comfy black clothes. And boots, of course.

    3. What would we eat/drink?
I dunno, do you like Japanese food at all? Or we could just stick with Canadian fare.

    4. If I suggested we watch a movie, what kinda movie do you think I’d pick out?
Something artsy that would inspire good conversation afterwards.

    5. If we were just gonna hang out at my place, what music would I have playing in the background?
An eclectic mix. All good stuff.

    6. What do you think my living space would look like?
I’m thinking it’d be kinda sparse, but comfortable, with lots of natural light. I could be way off, though.

    1. Stolen ideas are the core of all innovation. The cart inventor stole from the wheel inventor and the box inventor. Ok, so perhaps there’s no innovation here, but I thought I’d make some show of intelligence.

      1) Ah, I miss live music. It’s been a long while since I last saw a concert.
      2) Yep, that’s what I’d wear.
      3) I haven’t had Japanese before, so that sounds good.
      4) I’m all about artsy.
      5) Most surely.
      6) That’s actually accurate. My living room is almost too bright even with curtains, so the natural light bit is on.

      1. That first bit got a good giggle out of me ; )

I’m not complaining at all, of course. It’s always good to know I can inspire people.

#1 – There’s a pretty cool folk music festival in Ottawa every summer, y’know. *Hint, hint*

        #2 – I figured as much. I’m an all-black clothes type, myself.

#3 – Oh, Japanese food is good stuff! I tried it for the first time this year and instantly fell in love.

#4 – Artsy is always good. I love a movie that can be discussed and analyzed and interpreted.

        #5 – I don’t think music would be an issue, thankfully : )

        #6 – I’m just spooky sometimes.

        1. You know, I’m actually thinking of heading up to Ottawa this summer, but it’d be a Wednesday – Friday trip. I miss Ottawa. It’s one of my favourite cities (along with Montreal and Halifax).

          1. Any idea when you’d be doing that? I’ll be in Ottawa for a couple of weeks in August, and more than likely will be checking out the folk festival again : )

Your new icons are really lovely, by the way.

          2. I’m thinking of taking one trip in June or July and maybe another in August or September if finances hold up. I’m not sure if I’ll go to Ottawa or not for the first trip as I’m considering a few destinations.

I’m liking the Craig Thompson artwork I’ve made into icons. I’ve really fallen in love with his style.

          3. It’s bold and fluid. I like it : )

Maybe someday we’ll get a chance to meet up in Ottawa, then. I certainly wouldn’t be opposed to the idea. I love meeting LJ friends in person : )
