Those of you who’ve been reading for a while know that I dated Ashley (sirenica) for a couple years and have been friends with her since.
Tonight Ashley’s mother called me by mistake, confusing my number with Ashley’s brother’s girlfriend’s number. It was a good coincidence because I had been meaning to call her tonight or the day after. We talked for about half an hour about Ashley and I thought I’d share some of what is going on here (I’ll also post it in her journal if I’m able to) since I know some of you care about her as well.
Ashley is approaching two weeks inpatient treatment for her eating disorder. I’m not sure what she would feel comfortable with me sharing, so I’ll keep this short and won’t go into many details. She’s progressing but is still rather critical. Initially she put up quite a fight but has been participating in the treatment. There’s no set date for when she might get out and her parents are looking at the options with her doctor. There’s a chance she may be able to return to school for the next semester.
I’m sure Ashley would appreciate well wishes (and prayers if that is something important to you).

it’s hard I know, and things take time I hope she’ll get better soon
my first girlfriend had an eating disorder. it tooks years away from her but in the end shes amazingly better for it.

Even though I don’t know her, I’ll be keeping her in my thoughts. Here’s hoping she’ll get the help she needs to overcome this.
I’m so sorry to hear that. I’m glad she is getting help though. I’ll keep her in my thoughts for sure.
I’ve been praying for her (and myself) since I saw you. I’m glad that you got to talk to her mother.
