Halifax airport rated best in Americas
Halifax International Airport is No. 1 in the Americas, according to a survey of travellers released Wednesday.
The airport was also ranked first in the world for overall passenger satisfaction among airports handling fewer than 5 million passengers a year. It’s the second year in a row it has placed at the top of that category.
Halifax was also rated the world’s best airport for domestic travel.
“We excelled in areas such as the thoroughness of security inspections, the efficiency of check-in staff, and the courtesy and helpfulness of airport and airline staff,” said Peter Clarke, the airport’s chief operating officer.
The annual survey was conducted by Airports Council International and the International Air Transport Association, two groups representing airports and airlines around the world.

2. Seoul’s Incheon
3. Singapore’s Changi
The groups interviewed 65,000 international and domestic travellers at 40 airports in 2004, asking them 31 questions to rate their entire airport experience.
Halifax International is Canada’s seventh busiest airport, with more than three million passengers going through every year.

Wow! Who’d of thought?
I’ve never flown, but those I know who’ve come to Halifax have had good treatment there.
