Ow

Ow.

I just answered a knock at my door. When I opened the door a black and white kitten dashed in. A woman waiting there asked if it was mine.  The kitten had been scratching at my door and the woman who lives across the hall decided to knock. I said it wasn’t mine, and grabbed it, returning it to the hall. Several times I tried to close my door and each time the poor thing darted into my apartment and into my room in a fenzy. I guess it smelled or otherwise sensed something appealing here. I eventually picked the kitten up, to have it scratch my chest as I closed my door. It was a beautiful cat, but it’s sure left a stinging in my chest.

  1. haha i know my cat’s the most adorable thing sometimes, but not when he decides to scratch and bite. anyways, maybe if the kitten hangs around you can keep it since it probably doesn’t have a home. πŸ™‚

    1. I agree!

We had a cat at our backdoor once when I lived in Oregon once. Turned out she actually was a stray, and we got to keep her (after taking her to the vet and getting her checked out, of course)…

    1. I don’t think it’s one of his; I recognize those ones from when they’d wait expectantly for Susana and I to come out and poke them through the window screen while she visited. This one was only a few weeks old.

  2. That’s cute! When I was 14 & living with my parents, a stray black cat (with white on its belly) that was about 8 mos. old climbed into one of our flower boxes & stayed there for about three days. It wouldn’t go away & it kept meowing & over & over & over again. We finally decided to adopt it since no owners came forward. We had it for about three weeks until it got run over by a car. It was very sad. If I ever have a cat again it will most definitely be a HOUSE cat!

It’s amazing how cats just seem to be attracted to certain ambiences. Hopefully that cat will find an owner. I wish it lots of luck!

  3. OH i HOPE THE KITTEN BECOMES YOURS! Sorry, but carlos and mahoot give me an endless source of love and affection. I have some extra kitty food on hand if he’s still around…
