I’ve been a fan of the GeoURL project since I first learned of it and I’ve enjoyed seeing sites adopting it. With the newest version of Firefox, however, the GeoURL extension (originally by Mr. Lauke) was no longer working. The fix was as simple as changing the maxVersion variable in the install file, but no one else seems to have shared the fix and I thought I’d do so in order to save others the hassle.
Once you’ve installed it you’ll see a globe appear in your status bar whenever a site uses GeoURL tags. You can then click on the icon to see a list of site geographically near that site. If you’re not using the tags yet, I highly recommend implementing them.

It should be able to be opened by Firefox. That’s how it works for me.
Try saving it to disk can then opening it via Firefox.
Use http://www.multimap.com/ and copy the decimal numbers in the Long and Lat into the code found at GeoURL.
TGN is from the Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names, which can be searched for any place’s ID. Halifax is found here.
Yeah, there’s a link to the links page in my sidebar. I’d be down with exchanging links.
Yeah, that’s fine.
I’ve added Deathbox to my illustrious other links section.
