I found a copy of Critical: Sanctuary Season 1 at a dollar store today for $5. It’s a complete intro TTRPG in a box built as nine 30 minute fantasy TV episodes. It might not be to my tastes, but it was a novelty I wanted to pick up to experience at that price. It looks like there’s a season 2 and a cyberpunk version with two seasons out there, but they don’t seem very available.
The components at the very least might be worth repurposing.
“Run With Us” from the soundtrack to The Raccoons is such a great song. Fionn’s cover from the re-release of Evergreen Nights now has a wonderfully retro video.
Of course, I’ve added it to my playlist of every version of the song I know about.
We finally got together last night to play D&D with 5/6 characters ready for a final battle against cultists. We had things well in hand, with Bamfi using his psionic powers to kick things off with some dramatic damage, when a twist sent us to the Shadowfell and Evernight.
Tonight I watched the first episode of Cowboy Bebop as part of my Appendix NO watching. It was my first time, but I immediately saw how it inspired Neon Odyssey and especially Avantis’ Stardust Rhapsody actual play series.
Pyke and Rhett in Stardust Rhapsody are obviously tributes to Spike and Jet from Cowboy Bebop. The noir and space western blend is rich with storytelling potential.
The environments, from ship to planet, feel lived in.
