Here it is:
Years had blurred. Three since he’d stepped on the sea of browned leaves and roots. So little and so very much had changed. The trees had grown and new plants had sprung up but the grove was still familiar. And he saw her standing between a gnarled birch and an old maple.
She wore a grey dress that flowed around her in the wind, its bottom swirling with leaves. Her hair had grown, now slipping over her face and dripping straight down her shoulders. But her eyes were the same.
They were his home. Eyes embossed with blue that seemed to be the light from a sky-flame. He felt them welcoming him back into their depths. He withstood for a second.
Then a wave of memories rushed out of his core. An extreme emptiness replaced it. He knew the pain, it had been a tide within him since the day he left. Something else was there that hadn’t been all those years. He grasped for it and brought it up into his mind and felt almost whole again.
He felt conciousness pulling away. He tried to move towards her but he was frozen. His vision clouded with dark spots that kept growing. With every piece of strength he had he pushed away the darkness. Still he fell to the earth.
