Tonight was alright… I went to Park Lane and got my ticket early and then walked to all the book and CD stores around(yes, I’m hooked)… First I went to HMV to get the new Great Big Sea album, Sea Of No Cares. Then I went to the magazine shop to buy a copy of InQuest(I needed the Balrog card, of course). I also picked up Tom Cochrane’s Songs of a Circling Spirit. I have been looking for it for about a year now. I finally have all his solo releases(minus the really old one he did before Red Rider). I came across two Elastica singles there as well; “Stutter” and “Car Song”.
Then I made my way back to the theatre and went to sit down. Behind me sat some of the most annoying kids. Their voices alone, not to mention their conversation topics, were very grating.
Queen of the Damned then started. I did enjoy the movie. A few parts and special effects were too cheesy for my tastes but overall I thought the movie was well done. Special effects really were not very organic and very obvious but that can be overlooked for the most part. In the end I’d give it an 8/10… A good movie but not a great adaptation…
