Well, this is post 1011. It seems I’ve made a lot of posts to this thing, most being pointless.
I just finished Someplace To Be Flying by Charles de Lint. It did turn out to be one of my favorite novels. And I’d have to say it’s the best of Charles de Lint’s works that I have read thus far. I’ll be starting The Onion Girl next so it could quickly be replaced :D. The smell of new pages has such an appeal to me. To know I’ve never known these words, this story, this new truth is always captivating. Starting a new book is an experience I find hard to see why others can’t appreciate it. Television, movies, all other forms or telling stories(except for, perhaps, oral story telling) lack a sense or personal connection with the story that you get from a book. I guess it’s the way the words and your mind shape the experience, making it not as concrete as other media. I guess music is like that as well, a very subjective expression, yet it doesn’t hold the same strength as words, though it can often cause a more immediate emotion, it not so often changes how you see the world.
I must end the rant though, as my father will be arriving in 15-20 minutes and I need to get ready, say goodbye to my room and whatever else. I hope everyone has a good weekend. I’ll try to write something more for this thing soon but I have given you all over a thousand other entries so I think you can feed off those words instead, Farewell.
