This week was brimming with activity on and off the fediverse.

The last day of Halifax Mural Festival was Sunday, and Celestine and I started our day by stopping at one of the sites, where one artist was finishing a piece.

This sphinx moth caught my eye when walking along Spring Garden yesterday.

I went to the East Coast Kite Festival Sunday with my family. Spider-Man was there struggling to get his kite to fly. Celestine’s $1.50 Miraculous kite held up well.

We stopped in at the Public Gardens on Sunday and the roses were particularly nice.

I’ve played Pokémon Go nearly daily for 9 years. It was so exciting to have an augmented reality game from the Ingress developers that plugged into my childhood love of the Pokémon franchise. I think the game had some significant stumbles, such as never making raids fun, and rolling back the accessibility of remote raids, but I enjoyed much of the time I played during those years. I’m finally ready to step away from the game as a daily habit.

I think locking so much behind the unfun raids has bogged down my enjoyment of the game and the new ownership of the developers doesn’t seem ready to correct for that.I’ll probably play again in bursts if there are connections to mainline Pokémon games, or if they shift away from raids eventually, but Pikmin Bloom will be my only daily mobile game going forward.

Comic Book Club published a podcast episode of Alex’s recent discussion of the history of Archie Comics. It’s not exhaustive, but definitely worth listening to.

A cover of an Archie comic with Betty, Archie, and Veronica sitting at Pop's. Veronica drinks from a float while the other two look at each other.

Since AEW’s All In on Saturday night I’ve been basking in the afterglow of one of the most satisfying wrestling experiences I’ve had in years. Hangman Adam Page’s redemption has been so great to experience and having him once again be the Men’s World Champion feels right now that AEW has fully restored the feeling.

His entrance was just a hair shy of the highs of the phenomenal one before he defeated Kenny Omega to become champion the first time.

I took a walk down my favorite shaded path on my lunch break.

Celestine snuck Bulbasaur into her bag to take to camp today and decided it was safe to bring her out on the bus.

This groundhog was resting by the baseball field when I was on my afternoon walk.

Venture Maidens is a long-running D&D actual play podcast that has been one of my favorites for years. They’ve just started a new arc —using the Tales of the Valiant D&D variant— that’s a great jumping on point for new listeners.

“Venture Maidens is a femme-forged actual play stream and podcast.”
