Hello again,
Well, I guess I’ll add to that list I started last night….
More toys – pogs(yeah, I was into them before they really took off here and still have a box of them. lol), micro machines, transformers(loved the dinosaur and Optimus ones),
More games – Barcode Battler, Dungeons and Dragons, Galaxia
Books – Game books(like the D&D, Steve Jackson ones), Dungeons and Dragons, Asterix…
Collections – sports cards(yeah, I was really into that for a few years…I still have a huge box of cards, pucks, etc.), pogs(see above), pins, stamps, comics(see more below)…
Comics – big list time…. Spider-Man, X-Men, Ninja High School, Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four, The Hulk, Darkhawk, Ghost Rider 2099, Robotech…
I guess why I’ve decided to include anything about my past on here is not really because it tells much about who I am now but really more tells of my memories….I know we often think that those memories are part of who we are, and I agree, but I’m not anywhere close to who I was 8-10 years ago. LOL I was a total geek then, I’ll admit. Now I’m a freak and I enjoy it.
But I do still enjoy those memories of stuff I did back then even though now itr really doesn’t seem as valuable(well, I still love comics because many ARE for adults(Strangers in Paradise and Elfquest are my faves. and great examples), I still play rpgs and video games when I’m bored….I really don’t think that those things like that which help to reminiss are negative at all. When I can remember playing Hero Quest with my dad or talking about the newest comics that we’d made with my best friend from elementary I think that’s a positive aspect.
And the very few times I see those things kinda keeps me balanced. I know I was once a total geek, once I had no clue about what was quality literature, and yes, once I could be entertained having my G.I. Joes plan an ambush in the brook by my house. Well, that is the end of my first look into my past….there will be more interesting ones, I’m sure. Hey, I’ll be leaving the house I’ve lived in for my whole life in a few months for university so with transition comes reevaluation….
The End…
