The Weekend(original, oui?)

Chronological to start, I guess. 🙂

Friday night I walked to Strange Adventures to look around and get the 6th Strangrs in Paradise graphic novel. It was certainly one of the most touching stories from the entire series. It told of Katchoo and Francine’s first meeting and their friendship throughout that two week period when they first met, how Katchoo had been raped by her step father…. And how the two had to separate when Katchoo ran away. It was great to finally get that background… It explains how she got involved with the whole prostitution and organized crime scenerio and how the rest of the story went forward from that one story.
After that I walked down to Jen’s place to return her Rainbow Butt Monkeys CD but she wasn’t around. So I made my way back here…
After I got home I just chilled here and did my physics assignment….. didn’t finish, however. 🙁
Saturday morning the folks picked me up at 10:30 and we headed for Mt. Uniacke(sp?) for the wedding. We arrived at the campground and set up the camper. Cryil and Gladys were already there and just finishing setting up. We ate lunch, went to see the pig prepared….roasted by someone who knew what he was doing, a Cuban man I can’t remember the name of. He was a friend of Kyla’s family.
We went to Mt. Uniacke House and helped to set up the chairs, etc. When we arrived back the Pig had caught fire and charred on the outside some… It was still fine but the man was a bit upset since he’d been watching it to prevent that.
We got dressed, looked our best and such. Ilea and I looked like siblings, both wearing our trenches. lol Then left for the wedding.
We arrived and talked to all the relatives, of course. Poor Coltan was freezing… Hailey, being the newest baby was the center of attention and loving it as usual. Eventually we did have to sit down and watch the ceremony though.
The actually wedding was awesome…. both Will and Kyla looked great… it was still weird to see him like that, a contrast to what I remember from when he was a teenager.
The vows were really nice, actually brought Will to tears. another contrast. But everything went well…. and they were married…. ok.
We had to return to the campground rather soon after the ceremony, before photos because Dad had volunteered for “Pig Patrol”. lol He had to make sure it was cooking well and to start some of the baked potatoes.
When my cousins showed up I played a game of washer toss with Coltan. I won by a narrow margin in two games. lol He is only a kid though so he did well.
We went to eat after a while… actually a lengthy line….but everything was good, especially the pork. yum… didn’t taste like pork… very well marinated. 🙂 Of course everyone asked how university was going… gave the same answer of “great” everytime…. and then answered more questions.. fun…
My cousin Marsha, Will’s sister, said that she might have a job for me. Her boss is a single mother and needs a sitter for her son a couple nights a week. She wanted a guy and was going to post an ad here at Dal but of course Marsha put the word in for me. 🙂 so sometime soon they’re going to set up a meeting so that I can meet her and her son and see if it will work out… It’ll be great if I get the job because then I’ll have some extra $ for things like a Cell phone or whatever else I need(CD’s, books, stuff for my room, clothes, etc.) I get along well with kids so it should be ok.
Will made a great comment, said I looked like Michel Bolton! I was like, WTF???? I sooooo don’t look like him. Out of all the names I’ve gotten that was the worst. Bolton?!?!? Ew! LOL It was funny though. I’d much rather Jesus any day.
So the party wound down….. there were fireworks and lots of talking…. and then I went to sleep when most people had left. I needed to get more sleep after my continuous lack of sleep here at Studley. Not because of noise or anything… I can just finally be the night person I need to be. lol
So this morning I got up, ate breakfast and then came back here. And I did my laundry. Enjoy the journey? 😉
I’m here now…. just enjoying some peace and madness. Goodnight.
