Green Walk

Green Walk

Walking slowly in the green shade
The cool of a blistering summer
Around us like a soaking rain
Breathed in, it lightens soul and bodies

Connected by two hands, in sight
By souls and all we will breathe, in truth
Bare feet slowly press the damp moss
Bare souls weave through the leaves and their limbs

The green glow lights your perfect face
While we sit and let words spill freely
Dripping into our opened ears
Complementing our eyes’ deeper song

When the sun rises high above
We turn from orange light to linger
In the closeness of this midday joy
Moss a pillow, arms a blanket close

As lids fall, flowers’ scent flows in
On a breeze warm with the petal-wings
Sleep entering a grove in soft motion
Swirling around the only breathing
