Silence Roots

Silence Roots

Breathing the words below
Drawing sleep from their ink
Comfort from each black line
Roots in the messages

In the dark of the sky
Light outside lost to me
Swallowed by the ground’s light
Stars behind a curtain

Windows covered by cloth
Block the chaos of walls
Candles expanding space
Casting trees on the walls

Bringing silence inside
The cage of red static
Finding peace in the trap
Ready to leave on wings

Eyes closed, mind clear, breath stilled
Seeking the deep knowledge
Hearing nothing at all
A vacuum of silence

In the void collapsing
Not finding the sought strength
And as the sleep fills me
A slight whisper explodes
