What have you guys worked out so far?
When I was in my Sr. year of high school, I had some friends who were at Dal and SMU. What they did to save cash was room up in a large-ish one bedroom apartment. So, both beds in one room, but lots of space in the shared area, too. Also, they had a desk in both the shared area and in the bedroom, so if one guy was studying in the bedroom, the other could be alone in the shared area (living room or whatever) if he needed to.
I had friends when I was in Uni myself who did something similar. Only, they got a large one bedroom and got some plywood, and basically made an extra bedroom of one corner of the room with it. It worked well enough for the year they were there, and it was actually kinda fun for them, too.
It only works if you and the other guy are close friends with mostly similar interests, though. If you fight quite a bit, or have really different sleeping/study habits, it would suck.
Err… just some suggestions from someone who’s known others to go through the same sort of thing. 🙂
Well, so far we know that Nathan and I will be getting a appartment… We likely wouldn’t do the single room thing because we both value privacy and though we do have very similar interests and are good friends wouldn’t be able to stand being around eachother that much.
We’ll work it out, though. I’ll likely end up getting a parttime job though…

And I need to be able to talk to Ashley at any hour that we’re able to so I need my own room for that reason as well.
