“It is better for them (the Americans) to keep themselves away from us,” Uday was quoted as saying on Thursday night by al-Shabab (Youth) television which he owns.
“Because if they come, September 11 which they are crying over and see as a big thing will be a real picnic for them, God willing,” Uday said, referring to suicide hijacker attacks in New York and Washington which killed about 3,000 people in 2001.
“They will be hurt and pay a price they will never imagine,” he added, repeating similar comments in an editorial in Thursday’s Babel daily, which Uday also owns.
Uday said the Americans could get more gains from Iraq without war, saying that Washington would fail in ousting President Saddam Hussein.
“They can get much more from Iraq by dialogue without resorting to the logic of force and war,” he said.
The United States believes Saddam is hiding weapons of mass destruction from U.N. arms inspectors and has threatened to disarm him by force if necessary. Iraq denies having such weapons.
President George W. Bush’s administration, which is building up a major military force in the Gulf area, has said the release of a U.N. Iraqi weapons inspections report on January 27 will be an “important date” in deciding how to react against Baghdad.
“They (inspectors) will discover that we do not have these things, we are not lying, we are telling the truth, we have no proscribed weapons,” Uday said.

I agree that pressuring Saddam is a good thing. He is an evil man. But KILLING thousands of INNOCENT civilians in Iraq is not the way. Iraq truly doesn’t pose any threat to the west at all right now. Even if Saddam had weapons(which I believe is in doubt since we’ve seen NO PROOF from E.D. Bush or his administrations) he has no means to deploy them. Allowing inspectors to find them is better than blindly going into war with no concrete proof.
I believe Bush to be a corrupt and evil man. His actions have proved this to me, and shown me that he really doesn’t believe in democracy and does not serve his people. His actions will send thousands of Americans and other people of the world to their deaths and I will not accept that as proper action by any leader. He doesn’t care what anyone says. OVER HALF OF AMERICANS DO NOT SUPPORT WAR WITH THE EVIDENCE THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN! Yet, Bush does not care, he is acting as a dictator and acting in ways that endanger the world and put us on the brink disaster. I refuse to allow that to happen myself. I’d rather not see the people I love die.

My brother just got send off. But he explained the situation to me and I agree with what he is doing. And It’s is not BUSH that is in charge of the war, we can thank Secretary of Defense for this. AND there is a reason why they are inspecting Saddam… and maybe they just haven’t informed us with everything yet.
I’m afraid that Bush is pushing this war mighty strongly, and is the man who makes this stuff happen. He only has to say the word.

There of course is a reason why Iraq is being invaded, but I don’t think it’s what you’ve been lead to believe. Bush thinks he’s hiding the fact that he wants control over Iraq oil interests(his big business friends would LOVE to have a share of %20 more of the oil bought by the US and a large bulk of what is used by the rest of the world) and a greater piece of power in the Middle East
Saddam is an evil man, and I think he should be punished for his crimes. There’s no question of that. I do think this is a terrible way to do it, because so many lives are going to be lost on both sides. Civilians will pay for the war far greater than is acceptable. There are many other ways to deal with this, and it’s sickening to think that war is being considered now, when inspection teams are doing valid work and could possibly show a way out of a conflict or at least provide real proof.
It will only PROMOTE terrorism by invading Iraq and cause more deaths in the US and other countries, and that’s frightening.
Yeah, it’s quite sad… I want this to be stopped before it’s too late. Only around 25% of Americans support a war at this stage though.
