After Dream: Part One
I awake to the grey numbness of day
Caged still in a room amid towers
Grey words echo false kings’ heated lies
To a world chained in both mind and body
Hope and Love cling beyond the dream
Fortifying my mind and will
With echos and visions of my love
And the need to protect us all
I am not the strongest nor the only
But maybe my mind’s the true key
I can’t forsake the world now
Not if she does need me to speak
After a lone night I know my path
Words encased in truth and amethist
Spill from my mind upon the white
Leaves collecting that collect insight
At this point my story is more true
Than those presented to the world
As the only facts left undenyable
For it has always been told
For the real can hold onto love
Through every breath and life
We discard our every hate
And fight back against the clouds
Not only have I seen a place
Sheltered from this terror-plague
But I live as proof we can survive
Immune to all the blinding fear
I step upon the old cracked stones
Clarity fusing black feathers
With the marrow of this scarecrow
Bleeding new myths with the truth
I’m carried forth by drums
Heartbeats drowning out the grey
Threads pulling closer
Until my head is filled with cries
I step under the deep trees
Let the green swallow clouds
As I move towards a messenger
To unlock what I know
After Dream Part One is another part of the Grania and Roth story. It follows a prose piece I worked on some last month and details Roth’s reunion with Grania in a real dream, that is, one which actually did bring them together in a rather sacred place, the center of their web, a cave behind a waterfall, which flows into a deep lake-well, surrounded by forest, linked to the sea by tunnels, high in mountains, the center of the divine, the center of dream, love and truth… But for them it is comfort and togetherness after separation, and that has more value than any place it could have beyond their relationship. Yet when Roth wakes he has his determination, which was already solidifying before this, become as hard and as permanent as daimond. He knows he must act to protect those he loves and those he doesn’t even know yet, or ever, from The Grey, the corrupting force that opposes what he stands for… he is about to unlock his own knowledge… he feels it, but it is behind flood gates… and will soon unlock a prophecy-derived mission to spin a web that will strike a huge blow against the corrupt, the grey. It all won’t make sense yet… because you don’t know the story as I do, of course. You know parts that will weave together… mostly before, but some after… Moths + Fireflies will come into play soon, or be reflected by more fire than snow… Its presence will be there, perhaps twice.
If you’ve read this, thanks, it makes little sense, I’m sure, but it’s nice to know someone took the time to read. And afterall, as I said earlier tonight, “to be uncrazy is to be bland, just as to be unbland one must be at least a bit composed of some crazy sand”
