Does anyone remember the band See Spot Run? They’re awesome, so check them out if you have the chance. I believe they have a new album on the way that I must hear as soon as possible. I remember sitting in The Engine Room in Truro when I was younger and having the band eat at the table next to me.

So, I have some homework to do today, and that’s about all… True excitement, no?

In my planning for next year I’ve had an interesting option shown to me. My friend Mark has worked at the IWK for a couple years and has really enjoyed his time there. He suggested I could get a job as a “data entry monkey”.

Here’s what he e-mailed in response to being informed of my plans:

Well, it’s your decision. But I’ll be honest, you never were a CS student in my mind. You always seemed sort of stuck where you didn’t belong — like me in an arts program, I guess. I can definitely see you writing though, since you seem to do it non-stop and obviously like it so much. Why don’t you consider taking a few courses at King’s? They’re mainly devoted to journalism, but I could see you there. You could get a segment in a newspaper exposing bad deals and products, called “It’s a Lemmon” or something. =)

I hope things work out for you and Ashley. Make sure you get a job in the city during your year off, and apply at the IWK. Great pay, satisfying jobs. Seriously.
