… and you slide … and you slide … and you slide …

Sunday night I talked to Ashley some. I’ll never be tired of hearing her voice or knowing what she is thinking. With luck it won’t be long until we are together again. May or June look like the most likely months, and then in September there may be a much longer stay. We’ll have to work on that.

Not long after I said goodnight to Ashley the power went out here. I listened to some music on my laptop and Nathan and I played a game for a while until we became bored.

Since neither Nathan nor I were tired, we decided to go for a walk in the stong winds and rain. The air was actually warm so it was good walking. Nathan and I talked as we walked around the city for two hours. We didn’t go anywhere specific, just explored and talked about things. It was really one of the best experiences I’ve had with Nathan in the few years I’ve known him. I think he opened up a lot more than usual, espeically about his ex, Sarah. We talked about highschool, family, the past and present, people we both know, things we’d like to do, places we want to go, and numerous other things.

We traversed the Haligonian landscape. We walked along the fence that guards the military base, went through some of the dead areas of the city, walked the rail tracks, and slipped along side streets. Halifax is a great city around 3 in the morning. It’s so silent and easy to navigate. At the same time there are so many places I had never seen, or that I had not remembered, until last night. I think I’ll make a walk a new nightly adventure.

We arrived home soaked to the bone, but not annoyed by that fact. The fresh air and conversation made up for it very easily.

Today I woke around 8 when Ashley called and talked for a few minutes before she had to go to class. I returned to sleep for a while and then woke up to shower and get ready for the day. I went to class and then Nathan and I went to the mall.

There we walked around and did some errands. I paid the rent, sent some ebay items, got a few things like envelopes and light bulbs, ate lunch at the food court (it was some nice chinese food) and looked around. As a spur of the moment thing Nathan decided to buy a Game Cube and Metroid Prime. I did make him walk around to think about it, though. We entered a contest to meet Matthew Good at Music World, where I picked up the new Ashley MacIsaac album which happens to be called Ashley MacIsaac. It was only $11 so I couldn’t resist. Ashley is a good music maker. Then at another music store I found Ani DiFranco‘s Evolve album for just $17. I’ve been waiting to buy it since it was released and I’m very happy to finally have it. 😀 Ani is amazing.

We came home, Nathan started playing his game and I came online and have been listening to Evolve.

As I was writing this, Ashley called and we talked for a while.
