Maple coffee and a day

I just finished a big mug of coffee sweetened with some maple syrup from the lovely maple business my family owns. It was good stuff. Give it a try sometime.

Today was so beautiful here. Summer-like and just perfect for working outdoors(which I did, of course). It’s supposed to be this nice all week, so that’ll work out well for my working schedule.

When I arrived home I wrote this introduction to Alisha’s (lecey) book-in-progress, Stillframes. It should be published this year, and you will certainly be hearing a lot more about it in the coming months. It is/will be a wonderful book that I know you’ll all want to read.

What else has my day held? Reading from my Myth Adventures collection by Robert Lynn Asprin. More specifically, I’m in the midst of the fourth novel, Hit or Myth. His stories are always filled with humour, puns and amusing characters. I remember reading the comic based upon his books years ago when it was published by Warp and I liked them enough to pick up a good portion of the series(I still don’t have the newest book and also Myth-ing Persons, Little Myth Marker and M.Y.T.H. Inc. Link ok, so 6/9?).

Since I’m almost finished yet another book, I’ll be picking out the next target soon. There are 27 on the must read shelf. I’m thinking of Charles de Lint’s Into The Green or Terri Windling’s The Wood Wife. Read, read, read is what I must do. As if I need more stories to fill my mental bookshelf. πŸ˜‰

Speaking of those, I need to write a story or two very soon. I’ve been so lax about exercising my writing skills that I just need to write like mad. Too many stories filed away on mental pages. That Alisha girl and her book make me want to get off my mental ass and write.

For some reason I wish I was on a lake in a canoe, rowing beneath the moon… and also that I was camping with friends.

Where are the rock musicals these days? We need to put together Apollo Christ: Superstar or something. Or not, that would be lame.

My mind’s bouncing around in this hollow skull right now as I talk to my inspired disciple… I keep looking around my room, especially at my bookshelf, and remembering different things I forget too often.

I think I’ve decided on the tatoos that I will someday get… two crow feathers… either on inside forearms or on my back… and that will, of course, be years away…

To quote great minds, “la la lalalala”

  1. haha that would rock to write (if we were on acid or something) I’ve had a few limited excursions into the world of writing lately, and I too need to stretch that muscle. So if you feel like writing anything together over email or something like that I would love to πŸ˜€

I don’t think a mind can ever have too many stories bouncing around in it =]

  2. i so desperately need to get my muse and start writing again, too! short stories, DEFINITELY music.

maybe i’ll write that rock opera for you? πŸ˜‰

and maybe i’ll give that coffee/maple syrup thing a try tomorrow.. i’m almost out of equal, so… πŸ™‚

    1. lol Go ahead and write it if you’d like.

Maple makes absoltely anything better, I swear!

Perhaps we should start a writing group on LJ to encourage our friends to write more?

      1. that would truly be quite inspiring.. i know several people that would like to be a part of it.

would it be just people we know, or could anyone join? if anyone could join, there may be something out there like it already?
