…and every wayward heart redeemed…

Yesterday was pleasant.

We left here around 12 or 1 and picked Ilea’s Greg up about half an hour later. Then we sped into the city. Lately I’ve been looking to get an MP3 player, so I looked at a couple stores while there. At Future Shop I actually decided to invest in a Mini Disc player so that I can listen to music at work. It’s really quite impressive. 500 minutes of music on the disc, and 56 hours of life for one AA battery. For a music addict like me, it’s perfect. I have 5 discs to fill with music so I’ll be content.

After that we went to HSC where I departed and went to my apartment to pick up mail. I talked to Kevin for a second and then I was off to the mall again. There we at in the food court and did the usual walking around routine. I had one of the new lemonaide Crunchie bars while there, and I enjoyed it. Nothing to write home about(worthy of a journal entry, for sure), but it tasted good.

The Calvin church was next. One the way in I talked to the minister from my home community. I always liked him when I was growing up. He’s a rather open minded man for the work he does, and I certainly have respect for him.

There we explored its dungeons and lofts searching for holy grails and misconceptions (or myth-conceptions?). Of course Greg and I were bordering on blasphemy. The humming of “Number of the Beast” was amusing, as was talking of their misrepresentation of the history of crosses on one poster in the dungeon. Having studied history(both Greg and I have) it’s not hard to find the propaganda on the walls. Being Apollo Christ and all, I now feel at ease in churches most times. I don’t know why, really, but perhaps I’ve come to accept the lies and also that the attack on them can be subtle and more effective than flat out contempt.

Greg’s an upstanding guy. My sister could certainly be dating far worse. lol At one point in the night he mentioned how he doesn’t have a lot of close friends now, so I may have to be the best man at the (hopefully) far off date of their wedding.

Eventually we took our seats with Mother and the rest of the family. After the standard wait the bride’s music played, and Marsha walked down the aisle. She and Dale both looked great. The ceremony went very well, and my cousin Hailey as flower girl was extremely cute.

At the line of wedding particants (shame on me for forgetting the proper name!) Marsha, the new bride, mentioned how she wished Ashley could have been there. She was one of the first to know of Ashley and I in the family, actually.

Then I rushed out to the car which would carry the bride and groom. I had been nominated to help decorate that chariot, and so I did with my cousin Clara-May and eventually Ilea, Greg and my cousin Coltan.

A car ride took us next to the hotel where the reception and dancing would take place. Cyril and Gladys (Marsha’s parents) had provided wine they made themselves to each table, and there was a poem from the bride’s parents dedicated to the groom.

I talked to many of my relatives during the night, and saw all my younger cousins (they’ve really grown up a lot). One of the nicest was when Shelly came over and said her son Coltan (he’s 11, I believe) worships me. I talk to him on MSN sometimes, as well as his sister Courtney and they’re good kids. I thought that was rather nice for her to say. Before he went to bed Coltan came up and gave me a hug.

The evening progressed with speaches, toasts and the standard wedding related events. This even included the fabled “honeymoon kit”, for it is an age old and honoured tradition in the Lemmon family.

There was food and drink, of course, and then dancing began. Marsha and Dale had their first dance as husband and wife and then the humerous dancing that old folks go began. I followed my usual tradition of sitting at the table and mostly being bored aside from the times members of my family came over to talk.

The night ended quickly and then we were on the road once more. We were back here after 1, but I was able to talk with Ashley some before I finally gave in to sleep.

This morning I’ve been trying out my MD player and selecting songs for my very first “work mix”. I must say that mini disc is superior to a discman in every way!

I’ll soon be starting on the My Disciples page for Frozen Truth dot com so my disciples would be kind if they sent a photo to use.

“Don’t forget to be the way you are.”

  1. Yeah, MD players are the way to go if you listen to a lot of music. Or maybe an IPOD. I want to upgrade my MD player soo bad with a NetMD, but it still plays really well.
