Bookmobile!

I worked outside quite a lot today… I work up, had a bowl of salad and then out I went to help my father work on the lawn and gardens. There’s still that complaint from last summer (“I work at gardening and grounds keeping all week, so why do it on my weekends?”), but what can I do?

In the afternoon we drove to Middle Musquodoboit to the Book Mobile. You see, I live in a very rural area, and there isn’t the population for a standard library. Thus we have a bus that has been redesigned to be a mobile library that can travel around to different places out here in the sticks. It has horrible selection, but for folks out here it’s better than nothing. I looked all around and the only thing I found that I really wanted to borrow was Fiona Apple’s When The Pawn … I’ve wanted it for ages, and now, through the tax dollars I pay, I will be able to copy it and add it to my personal library.

Literacy is something I feel very strongly about. People need to start reading again, damnit! Books should always be more popular than movies, television and other entertainment, because they have so much more depth, meaning and truth (though some are indeed as worthless as their counterparts).

We returned home and I returned to work.

Now I’ve been taking a break until dinner. After that I will have to work on the gardens again.

The air is becoming too hot and too mosquito filled for my liking.

  1. when the pawn is an amazing album. Its wonderful. I cant say enough good things about fiona. on another note, i think its waay cool that you can burn cds from the library, here they have this sticker that prevents you from copying it.
