These are the governments in order of the best outcome, in my opinion:
1) NDP Majority
2) NDP Minority
3) Liberal Minority
4) Liberal Majority
5) PC Minority
6) PC Majority
So we’re near the bottom, but it could be worse. Better efforts will have to be made in the next election, which should come in the next 2 years because of the minority.
Because of the timing of the election, and the poor weather, only 60% of Nova Scotians voted. That’s very sad indeed.
In very much related news, I’m now a member of the New Democratic Party of Canada. Yes, I signed up tonight, after learning from Sascha how to do so. I believe this is the only major party in Canada that I would trust to responsibly govern our nation. On so many issues I agree with this party, and with so much at stake, I feel it’s my responsibility to aid thier cause however I can, for the good of all Canadians.

It is too bad many people are afraid of what they will bring to the political system. Now that I am a member I will be helping with the next election. I very much want to help my party win 🙂
ewwwwwwww PC party? ewwwwwwwwwwwwww you should run and HIDE very very quickly. they’ve screwed up EVERYTHING here and i HATE them. i can’t believe that they got re-elected. stupid morons. *hate hate hate* i hate mike harris. i hate ernie eves. i hate them all. hospitals constantly closing, last year i used text books from 1975 because for the last EIGHT years they have refused to give our school enough money to get new textbooks. even though we have a new ciriculum. i friggen loooove them *note sarcasm* grrr. and the worst thing…i can’t vote in the next election (its probably in sept. my birthday is in oct. – so i can’t even help ensure that they don’t get into power again) grrrr hate hate hate. even when someone else FINALLY gets into power the whole budget is going to be such a mess from “tax cuts” for the rich, over spending, giving themselves raises and all this crap…that its going to take forever to get things under control….which probably means that by the time they ACTUALLY get things sorted out people will be so angry that they’ll elect them AGAIN. *hate*

Yes, the PC’s have been fucking things up here for ages.
The funny thing is that my roommate’s grandfather was the leader of the PC party here for years, now we’re both socialists, and he greatly dislikes his grandfather because of all he did as a politician.

I am very interested in politics.
But seeing as I live in the U.S. things are so very different,
you say 60% like it is such a low number….I know that here 60% would be one of the highest percentages ever for an election. So sad really….. so few people worried about what their government is doing
The P.C.’s are basicly the equivalent conservative democrats (we have very few people as radically evil as republicans here).
The Liberals are roughly equivalent to liberal democrats, and the NDP are similar to the Green Party.
I guess more people do vote here, but it’s still sad so few people vote.
I’m extremely worried about what the American government is going, myself, because they’ve been fucking up both the US and the world even more than usual in these past 3 years.
I am worried where *MY* (and I use this term loosely) government is going as well.
I wish more younger people were involved, it is so uncommon to meet someone who gives a damn. And that just makes things hard for those of us who do.
ah, don’t let my father hear you say that republicans are evil….he would go on about how they are not. Trust me..I know this from experience.
Well, I have proof they are evil, so he could say all he wanted, but I know better. 😉
