I picked up Buck 65‘s Talkin’ Honky Blues and A Perfect Circle‘s Thirteenth Step this afternoon.
I’ve been listening to Talkin’ Honky Blues more than the other album so far. It’s a really wonderful work. It’s Buck’s best produced album and contains some real gems. “Wicked and Weird”, “Protest”, “Roses and Bluejays”, “463”, “Tired Out” and “Craftsmanship” are my initial favourites, but I think this is an album that will become even greater as time passes. There’s a wealth of music on this disc that is hard to find anywhere these days, so I really urge you all to check it out.
More words about Thirteenth Step will be added here once I can give it a proper listen. Stay tuned.
Tonight I’ll be seeing Buck 65 in the flesh at his album release party, and there’s no doubt I’m looking forward to that. Every time I see Mr. Terfry live he improves, and surely tonight will be no exception.
Unless you take pride in what you’re doing it won’t last”
