Molly Zenobia’s voice is streaming from my speakers. It’s part of a playlist I have titled “Apollo’s Early Morning Mix”. It features a soothing and dynamic collection from Eyes For Telescopes, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Keyke, Molly Zenobia, Terami Hirsch, The Mars Volta, Broken Social Scene, Brokeheart and A Silver Mt. Zion. I have no doubt that your ears and mind would be enchanted by adding any of these artists to your own collection of music.
Today went fairly well. The interview could have been better, but I think I still stand a chance. I’ll know by tomorrow night whether I need to continue the search. If nothing else, I now know Dartmouth a bit better because of the extra hour I spent on that side of the harbour. There is definitely a distinct difference in atmosphere between the two sides, and I’m much more comfortable with the one on my own.
Broken Social Scene’s “Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl” is a song I can’t dispell from my head. It’s not that I’d ever want to, though. It’s so beautiful and infectious in all the right ways. It’s deceptively and disarmingly simple. It reaches into that corner of my mind where my youth is hiding away and building a nest of shreaded paper to wake it from its hibernation.

Broken Social Scene
“Anthems for a Seventeen Year-Old Girl”
Used to be one of the rotten ones
And I liked you for that
Now you’re all gone
Got your make up on
And you’re not comming back
Bleaching your teeth
Smiling Flash
Talking Trash
Under your breath
Bleaching your teeth
Smiling flash
Talking trash
Under my window
Park that car
Drop that phone
Sleep on the floor
Dream about me
