2003 (A Q&A Recap)

1. What did you do in 2003 that you’d never done before?

I meditated for the first time in 2003.

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don’t make new year’s resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Thankfully no one did.

5. What countries did you visit?

I remained here in Canada for all of 2003.

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?

I’d like to be more financially stable, and better able to show discipline in writing.

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

September 28, because it was on that day that Hurricane Juan

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

I believe my spiritual evolution is definitely my biggest achievement.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Not being able to quickly find a job.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nothing that I can remember, though I did suffer some minor wounds and colds.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

My clie and the various books and music I invested in.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

My disciples, because they were always great friends to me.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

None of my friends, but certainly Evil Dictator Bush.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Food, rent, music and books.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Being with Ashley, hanging out with my disciples and concerts.

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?

“Anthems For A 17 Year-Old Girl” by Broken Social Scene, “The Cheat Is N ot Dead” by Strong Bad, “Wicked and Weird” by Buck 65, “Sanctity of Dreams” by Live and “Waving To The Satelites” by Eyes For Telescopes.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you

i. happier or sadder?: sadder (because at this time last year I was with Ashley)

ii. thinner or fatter? roughly the same

iii. richer or poorer? poorer

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

I wish I had written more, and make a greater effort to find a job in early fall.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Sitting around.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

Likely with my family.

22. Did you fall in love in 2003?

I’ve been in love all through 2003.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

I don’t watch T.V. (unless my room mates have it on)

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?

Nope.

26. What was the best book you read?

I reread House of Leaves, but my favourite new book was likely The Onion Girl by Charles de Lint.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Godspeed You! Black Emperor and A Silver Mt. Zion.

28. What did you want and get?

Some good books and music.

29. What did you want and not get?

Financial security.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

I’m really not sure.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

I was 21, and I didn’t do a whole lot other than look for a job.

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Having a job during this last season.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?

Black jeans and black shirts.

34. What kept you sane?

Music, books and my disciples.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Tuesday Weld recently.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

The invasion of Iraq.

37. Who did you miss?

All my good friends.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

I didn’t meet anyone new in person that I can think of, but online I’ve gained some quality friends, especially the Psychos.
