Wanda invited me to join her and her friend Dan at a concert tonight, so I must be leaving in a few minutes. It sounds like a good time. Anyone else going to see the Danny Michel concert should come over and say hello to this redhead. I’ll be wearing a green Poe shirt.

Oh yes, he had that song “Perfect” that I used to hear on the radio a lot. I guess his website says he’s at the Velvet Olive tonight. Very snazzy place.
The Velvet Olive is far too upscale for me. It was an awesome show though.

Ah, sorry! It was at the Velvet Olive. A bit more upscale than I’m used to. The sort of place where the menu has no prices scares me.
Oh hey, I don’t eat at the Olive. (Apple Barrel is an interesting joint.)
But anyhow, it’s not a place I find real comfortable … kinda like Tribeca … not my kinda joint.
Have you been to Salvation? Lotta folks I know perform there … live music most evenings.
I wouldn’t have gone to the Olive unless my friends had invited me. It had a nice atmosphere, but the people were a bit too upper class for my tastes. The music was great though.
I do enjoy the Apple Barrel. I’ve eaten there a few times.
Where is the Tribeca? I’m thinking of going to see a show there in a couple weeks but I have no idea where it might be. Is it also like the Olive?
I haven’t been to Salvation. To be honest, I don’t get out much at all. I frequent the Marquee because it has a lot of my favourite bands from time to time. I rarely make it anywhere else unless some of my friends invite me somewhere. When I have some disposable income again I’ll likely check out Salvation, though.
Tribeca is important historically because it used to be the Mocca … drum and bass upstairs every Friday. The upstairs is still something like it used to be, but gentrified, and the main room is … well … let’s just say “upscale”. *gick*
I encourage you to explore Salvation at your first opportunity; during the day it’s just a cozy little folk-art type museum cum coffee shop.
