Gandhi v. Osama

Tonight I read a facinating fictional exchange between Mahatma Gandhi and Osama Bin Laden. It was a very objective look at both approaches to conflict and general philosophies. I found it to be a clarifying work, and a piece that should serve to shed light on the characters and motivations of both men. As persented by the author, Bhikhu Parekh, his “exchange between him [Gandhi] and Bin Laden tries to do two things: to comprehend at least part of the twisted worldview that inspires Bin Laden, for we cannot defeat it without understanding it; and second, to explore a neglected alternative.”
