Who won the second presidential debate?
President Bush – 16% – 4949 votes
John Kerry – 83% – 26448 votes
Evenly matched – 1% – 450 votes

Another sign of the end of the Bush rule? We can only pray it is, I suppose.

You must remember you live in Bush country (you’re in a Republcan-voting “red state”) so there will be a great bias toward him.
Which polls?
CNN. I wanted to pick a centrist source, and that’s the closest to center I could think of in US media. Do you know of any others?
Not yet.
I just didn’t see the CNN poll when I was looking for it.
It’s on the front page. You have to vote to see it. It’s changed only slightly since I posted (16-82-2).
Most of the other polls show the debate tied.
That just tells me that most people have already made up their mind and a debate isn’t likely to change it.
Never trust Fox. They’re far, far right.
CNN is usually rather centrist, with people on both sides of the issues. I’m surprised there would be a lot of talk of Bush winning on there.
thank you.
i pray that it is, too.
i love the fact that every “local” news channel i watch says that the debates were “a draw”. friggin idiots! i personally know that is not true.
Tina L.
Kerry definitely won in the debate.
I wonder if Bush will be made out to be the winner because he was more agressive this time, though.
Wow. It seems Kerry is doing even better than I thought. That’s great news.
I think the poll recognizes your IP address and makes sure you can’t vote twice from the same computer.
I hope so too.
Thanks. I’m reading it now.
That’s quite interesting.
If I got $84 million dollars from owning a piece of a timber business I would certainly remember it.
Oh, that’s quite different. I think I would likely forget about that too then.
I think so too. It showed Bush as out of touch with even his own life.
Bush an extra terrestrial? I thought we were looking for other intelligent life forms.
To be honest, I think that right now, with Saddam in power, the world and Iraq would be in a better situation. That’s not to say Saddam was a great leader, just that he kept Iraq stable and reasonably good to live in compared with many other middle eastern nations. He gave women rights that a fundamentalist government (the most likely in a democratic Iraq) would refuse them, for instance.
That’s a good Bush quote, but there are a ton of great ones. “Is our children learning?” is a good one.
Oh my! I hadn’t heard that one before.
http://www.isbushwired.com/ Here’s some interesting speculation.
Oh, Bush sure knows how to move his foot to his mouth.
How can people allow such a poorly spoken man to run a nation? It baffles my mind.
I remember hearing that when Bush met with our Prime Minister he kept talking about God and how God was on his side, really annoying the PM, who wanted to talk about the war (before it began) and other important matters.
Oh, that’s some mighty good and swift research. I’m impressed.
Yes, lets hope Bush is gone come 2005 (you still gotta put up with him until the new year no matter what).
It is morning, isn’t it? I really need to get some sleep.
Goodnight and have a good weekend. I’ll be looking forward to some “Alishaisms” when I get back.
Oh, one would have to be your way of spelling words as if they are being said with an accent. That’s definitely an Alishaism.
Did you hear Bush compare Canada to a third world country??
HORSTMAN: Mr. President, why did you block the reimportation of safer and inexpensive drugs from Canada which would have cut 40 to 60 percent off of the cost?
BUSH: I haven’t yet. Just want to make sure they’re safe. When a drug comes in from Canada, I want to make sure it cures you and doesn’t kill you.
And that’s why the FDA and that’s why the surgeon general are looking very carefully to make sure it can be done in a safe way. I’ve got an obligation to make sure our government does everything we can to protect you.
And what my worry is is that, you know, it looks like it’s from Canada, and it might be from a third world.
Lovely stuff. Canadian drugs – they’re as good as anything you guys have down there and cheaper.
Ok, I think I will actually sleep now.
I’ll see if I can come up with some Alishaisms for you.
I hope you’ll sleep well too and enjoy your weekend. Ok, I’ll really sleep this time. Honest.
I’m sure hoping so!!
*is optimistic*
I haven’t come up with any new Alishaisms, but I’ll think on it some.
I hope your weekend went well.
